Despite being on two planes that sat on the tarmacs for 45 minutes each, we made all the connections and arrived in Rome at about 8:15 Sunday morning (midnight in Boise). We took a taxi to the hotel -- it was faster and cheaper than the hotel shuttle. The best surprise was that we were able to get into our room as soon as we got here. Yea!
We're now all set for tomorrow -- shuttle to airport train station; then train from Fiumicino Airport to Roma Termini (main terminal), switch trains and then almost 4 hours to Venice, arriving at 12:33.
We'll get something to eat here (10:15 AM), go for a walk, and then perhaps a short nap; only got 3 - 4 hours sleep on the flight over.
I'll report in once we get to Venice tomorrow. Arrivederci.
