Monday - January 30, 2012. Our first morning back at Playa Grande Resort in Cabo San Lucas. This is a photo from our main balcony (there is also one off the bedroom, but I don't think we've used it other than other than to hand something to a neighbor). Doesn't the Pacific Ocean look nice out there? The water is nice; the beach, however, is not a swimming beach as the undertow is really powerful.
January 30, 2012. Looking from the balcony across the bedroom balcony out to the water. These are the views that we wake up to every morning we are here-- pretty tough to take, right?
January 30, 2012. One of our traditions (okay, so the tradition began this year -- it's just that we never really formalized it before as a "tradition.") was the drinking of the first shots of tequila. The tequila is Don Ramon Reposado; it's a brand we found last year and we liked it, plus we liked the bottle enough to take home as our tequila bottle. We brought our own Cabo San Lucas shot glasses with us year so we wouldn't have to buy any more. The glasses are full of tequila (enough for 2 nice shots), which is why there are 4 lime slices on the plate. The cube between the slices and the shots is the lime after the 4 slices and the two ends were removed. I then used that cube in the shrimp that I sauteed for dinner.
January 30, 2012. Here is Darlene taking her first shot of tequila. Yes, she will shoot me when she sees this picture posted, but I'm lucky because she never looks at the things I post online. She was really good and only had the one glass of shots; I had another!
Tuesday - January 31, 2012. The morning sun is bright already at 7:37 in the morning. Sun glasses are necessary to sit out on the patio and read or just enjoy those first few cups of coffee. Notice the use of the plural "cups" -- the ones they provide are so-o-o-o small. At least you don't have to worry about the coffee getting cold before you finish drinking it!
Darlene is the fisher in our family, but all fishers know that you must clean "your equipment" after a day of fishing. Well, the same is true of the birds who g fishing. Here is a pelican sitting on one of the hundreds of boats in the marina at Cabo San Lucas doing just that -- getting all cleaned up after a day of fishing. I don't if he caught anything, but he looked like one happy bird, so I think he did!
