Monday 07 November – Mediterranean Sea. After a long day on the coach in Sicily, it was nice to have a restful day at sea. But I think they know that when they set these schedules, so that’s not surprising. Today was indeed a lazy day, meaning this will be a short entry.
Stuart attended the Enrichment Lecture “Frauds R Us” by Bill Slowinski. Bill and Jan are the couple from Darlene’s hometown of Jackson, Michigan, that we met on a tour a few days ago in Civitavecchia, Italy. Bill is a retired Crime Scene Investigator (CSI) before they turned into a glamorous TV activity. Bill and Jan take many free cruises by Bill giving lectures onboard based on his expertise. He suggested that I look into because of my travel and writing experiences. Hmmm, good idea.
After a late lunch, Darlene did some reading, and I wrote one chapter in my Sydney novel (YEA!!!).
For dinner, eight of the group that Barbara Anderson got together for private tours in Jordan and Israel met for dinner in Chops Grille. They advertise as having the best steaks on the high seas. They must still have them because they didn’t serve them to us. For the extra that we paid to eat there, most of us were quite disappointed with the food (better steak in regular dining room; plate was cold), plus the pretentious service was uncalled for on a cruise ship. Anyway, it gave the eight of us a chance to get better acquainted (there are a total of 16 who are going on the tours). We met for dinner at 7 PM, and we left Chops Grille at 9:30.
