Tuesday 08 November – Mediterranean Sea. Another day of cruising on the Mediterranean. Tonight we will be approaching the northern entrance for the Suez Canal.
Darlene and I started the day with one mile (6 laps of the track) of walking on the 12th deck. It was quite an invigorating walk as the ship was going into some strong winds. So as we walked forward on the starboard side we were being pushed hard by the winds. Then as we made the turn to the left on the port side, the winds almost picked us up and pushed us halfway back. But it was a good way to get the day started.
The rest of the day was again lazy – what else are you going to do? Rock wall climbing isn’t exactly my thing, especially in the strong winds (that was my excuse). I did some more writing, and Darlene did more reading. She completed the last paperback that she brought on the trip and contributed it to the ships library, which is conveniently located on our deck just ten cabins away. We’ve already seen the book on their shelves.
Tonight was the second formal night, and we had dinner at 6:45 with John and Sharon Eash. The ship was moving around a bit so this photo didn’t come out too well. We did have a couple taken by the ship’s photographer, and we’ve found one taken that looks good. Darlene really is stunning in the black slacks and jacket with the gold top plus the earrings, necklace and charm; of course, she looks stunning anyway, but then, I’m partial. Hard to tell what I was wearing: black suit with white pinstripes; white shirt with black pinstripes, and a white tie.
