Bread and Wine, Paris style

Day 14 of 60 ... It's been said that a croissant is just some butter held together very lightly with flour. That might be so, but each one is layers and layers and layers of crumbly flour held together with the soft buerre. Our daughter who is here in Paris for one week with us went out early this morning to the neighboring boulangerie and came back with three very tasty croissants. Well, I can only speak that at least one of them was tasty -- the other two were gone!

Bordeaux wine is said to be the best in the world (don't tell anyone in Napa or Sonoma counties that I said that). And we've had our share of fantastic Bordeaux, and other regions, wine while here in Paris. We've had wines' that you'd pay at least $30 per bottle in the USA; they're under 5 Euros here - fantastic!
We saw a Bordeaux vintage that we just had to try. These are pictures from the first glass that I poured, and you can see it has a nice color.

Are you ready for what 's next?

The wine is from a 3-liter box of wine -- and it's good! Leave it to the French to make boxed wine out of a Bordeaux vintage that we'd die for at home. It might not be the best we've had, but then they've all been good -- and we're doing our best job of sampling as many as we can!

That's it from Paris for now. I hope you're enjoying your day, wherever you are, and whatever you're doing.  Please pass this along to two friends and ask them to subscribe if they want to learn more about Paris.

Au revoir!
